Indiana Jones will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 14th. It will be released in a 2 disc special edition, a regular one disc edition, and in a Box set of all 4 movies with special bonus content (which is probably just more cast interviews and “the Making Of”) . The 2 disc DVD edition will feature the complte making of the films, the makeup art, info on the crystal skulls (what moron doesn’t already know about those though, hah..), prop information, about the special effects, visualization sequences (I assume the story boards), and art galleries featuring tons of special images from the film. While I never actually watch any of that stuff, I still find it all interesting.

The Dark Knight DVD will be released *ta da* on my birthday, December 9th. Thats really all the info that’s come out on it. It will be one a one disc dvd, a 2 disc special edition, and a one disc blu-ray edition. So, be sure to celebrate my birthday and go out and buy it.  I’ll try and find more information the special features in the upcoming months.

So, mark your calendars. 2 of the hottest movies of the year are coming up for you to own fast.

I’ll be back soon with more movie reviews, such as Ghost Town and Eagle Eye.

Well, I got my first look at the Cloverfield DVD last night. I enjoyed it very much. So, if you’re apprehensive about buying it, here’s a small guide to what you’ll be purchasing.

  1. While nauseating in theatres, it is very watchable on the home television.
  2. You get 3 alt. endings, which aren’t much..they really suck. But they are interesting.
  3. Bloopers. Pretty much the funniest thing ever.
  4. Deleted scenes. A bit more of the funniest thing ever.
  5. A look into the making of the monster

That’s all really. Nope, no big thing that tells all the answers, but there is a directors commentary which I will watch when I get the DVD myself, which may give some clue as to the answers.

Worth your money? Well, I think $25 for a DVD is ridiculous. But there are places where it’s only $20. For the hype, I don’t think the Special Features are good enough.  You may want to wait for the price to go down a little or wait a few months for the Special Edition DVD (if one exists, but most big movies do that to generate more hype).

I know it’s almost the END of the month, but I really like this idea and there is still enough time for anyone reading to follow through with it if they wish to.

What I’d like to do is propose a “Movie of the Month” where you guys just set aside some time to settle down from the hustle and bustle of every day life and just watch a good movie. And it doesn’t have to be just my silly little ideas. Feel free to post yours as well.

In honor of Spike TV’s Star Wars Marathon, this month’s movie is Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope.

Why you should watch:

  • It’s the first movie in an AMAZING series made by an AMAZING man.
  • It takes place a long long time ago, for all of you history buffs. (And in a galaxy far far away , for all of you astronomy buffs).
  • Battle sequences for the men
  • Han Solo for the women
  • Amazing technology
  • Just a plain great story and enjoyably movie

Reasons not to watch:

  • Your father was killed by Palpatine’s apprentice
  • You lack the ability to enjoy good movies
  • You are of the Hut family
  • You hate those darn rebels!

Well, that’s all for now. If you can, you should get to the theatres to see The Forbidden Kingdom. Juno is also a good movie and is out on DVD, and Cloverfield is out next week.

I am Legend is being released. Or is released. Idk. But there was an alternate ending I’d like to discuss.

Apparently, Neville and the creatures are in the lab, and instead of them killing him, he gives them the female he was working on and they leave him alone and let him escape with the other 2. That is a pretty crappy ending in my opinion. It doesn’t have any of the emotion that the one they kept does. It’s more dramatic to have your main character die off.

That’s all for that. I liked the movie. I don’t care to get the DVD though.

On to Cloverfield, which will be released on April 22. There’s a commentary by Matt Reeves, which will be awesome. we can finally get into the mind of the director and what he was thinking as the movie went on. There’s also something suspicious named “Case Designated: Cloverfield”. It is 50 minutes long. I think it might be where we get our glimpse of the aftermath. Here’s hoping. Easter Eggs (like the forums haven’t already torn through them all by now. Aha) A documentary on the making of it, heck yes! The visual effects, heck yes again! Those were absolutely STUNNING. Also something titles “I saw it! It’s alive! It’s huge!” which..might be interviews with the actors. Not sure.. Cloverfield fun, I smell Slusho. Deleted scenes, always interesting, as well as an alternate ending. I’m totally excited.

Matt is directing the sequel and Abrams is producing. It has characters no one expects to survive, apparently. I smell either the main characters, Hud, Marlena (ouch), the main dude’s brother, or..*dundun* the monster? And it probably won’t be handheld.
